As part of the European Green Week, on the 31st of May Run4Life held on-site and virtual Open Days of its demonstration sites to show what is possible in wastewater resource recovery to help achieve a clean and circular economy. First the audience received an update of what is happening at all four demonstration sites. In Helsingborg and Ghent inhabitants are just moving in, in Vigo and Sneek the experiments with the new technologies are making progress. After this overview, the participants of the on-site event went on a tour of the demonstration site Porto do Molle (Vigo) and the online audience could choose a site of which they could see a virtual tour and ask questions to the demo site representative.
The on-site tour of Porto do Molle was attended by professionals from different backgrounds, including engineers and architects. It was a great networking opportunity between people with interested in source-separated systems. There were discussions about possible future initiatives and projects, for housing developments and business parks, also looking at the option of incorporating industry in the water and energy cycles.
Presentations of the event can be downloaded from the programme below, that also includes links to the webpages dedicated to each of the demonstration sites.
Later in the same week, also in the framework of the EU Green Week 2021, project partner ISLE held the Run4Life 2nd Innovation Workshop. For an overview of that event please visit the corresponding page here.
